About this product
12V Automotive Battery Voltage Tester with LED Status Indicators
The QS/BT03/A Digital Battery Voltage Tester is designed to help users quickly check the voltage condition of a 12V automotive battery. Instead of requiring a separate measuring instrument, the tester uses clearly labelled indicator lights to show different battery-voltage conditions.
The tester provides multiple voltage-status indications including OK, Low, Middle, Full, Good and Fault. The indicator behaviour changes according to the detected battery voltage, making it easy to identify whether the battery voltage is low, normal, suitable after driving, or excessively high.
⭐ Key Features
✔ Designed for 12V Automotive Batteries
✔ Voltage Condition Testing
✔ Multiple LED Status Indicators
✔ OK / Low / Middle / Full / Good / Fault Indicators
✔ Visual Battery Voltage Condition Identification
✔ Helps Check Battery Condition Before & After Driving
✔ Quick & Easy Voltage Status Checking
✔ Suitable for Automotive Battery Diagnosis
🔋 12V Battery Voltage Testing
The tester is designed to identify the voltage condition of a 12V vehicle battery. The indicator lights correspond to different voltage ranges, allowing the user to quickly understand the battery's current voltage condition.
💡 LED Voltage Status Indication
The tester uses different indicator states to represent battery voltage conditions. Depending on the measured voltage, the relevant indicator either flashes or remains continuously illuminated.
OK – Indicates the specified OK voltage range.
Low – Indicates a low battery-voltage condition.
Middle – Indicates the middle/normal voltage range.
Full – Indicates the higher/full voltage range.
Good – Indicates the specified good operating voltage range.
Fault – Indicates an excessively high voltage condition.
📊 Detailed Voltage Indication
For a 12V battery, the tester provides the following voltage indication levels:
0–4.5V: Product cannot be started; battery replacement is indicated.
4.5–11.4V: OK indicator flashes. At 11.4V, OK remains continuously ON.
11.5–11.9V: Low indicator flashes while OK remains ON. At 11.9V, Low remains ON.
12.0–12.5V: Middle indicator flashes while Low remains ON. At 12.5V, Middle remains ON.
12.6–13.4V: Full indicator flashes while Middle remains ON. At 13.4V, Full remains ON.
13.5–14.4V: Good indicator flashes while Full remains ON. At 14.4V, Good remains ON.
14.5–15.4V: Fault indicator flashes while Good remains ON. At 15.4V, Fault remains ON.
🚗 Before & After Driving Battery Check
The supplied manual also provides a reference table for evaluating a 12V car battery before starting and after driving. It can be used as a quick reference to identify low, normal and excessively high voltage conditions.
📋 12V Automotive Battery Reference
Below 11.4V before starting: Too low; the manual indicates that the vehicle may be unable to start.
11.4–11.8V before starting: Low; starting may be difficult.
12.0–12.5V before starting: Normal according to the manual.
12.6–13.4V after driving: Too low and may indicate a charging issue; generator or related electrical loads should be checked.
13.5–14.4V after driving: Normal.
Above 14.5V after driving: Too high; the manual indicates that the battery may be damaged and the generator/related equipment should be checked.
🔎 Battery Condition Diagnosis
The manual notes that vehicle electrical equipment, driving habits and other factors can affect battery life. It also gives an example where a battery measuring 11.9V and subsequently dropping after several hours of driving may indicate a damaged battery.
The manual recommends checking the engine charging circuit and replacing the battery as soon as possible when the battery is determined to be bad and is no longer charging.
⚠️ Important Note
The voltage reference table is stated in the manual to be suitable for judging the quality of more than 90% of car 12V batteries on the market. However, the manual also notes that special battery models may exist and recommends making an accurate diagnosis based on the actual vehicle and battery condition.
